About
the Company
Abdulrahman Suleiman AlBassam and Sons Co. was founded
in Bahrain in 1926 by Abdulaziz Ali AlBassam. To this
day in the kingdom of Bahrain, the company still
functions under the name of the first founder as
Abdulaziz Ali AlBassam Co.
Bahrain was the commercial centre of
the Arabian Gulf in the first and second decades of the
twentieth century. It was also the main sea port for the
neighboring Gulf countries. At that time, the young
company worked in importing and exporting almost all
kinds of provisions and commodities to and from
countries such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and
Kuwait. In 1955, the international and local economies
were flourishing and so the young company as well. At
that year, the company changed its orientation to start
investing in constructing and developing land and real
estates while maintaining interest in the prosperous
Gold trade.
The year 1977 was a defining year for
the company as its ownership was transferred completely
to Mr. Abdulrahman Suleiman AlBassam. Mr. Abdulrahman
decided to expand the company, especially in the
thriving Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to change its name
to the current “Abdulrahman Suleiman AlBassam and Sons
Company.” Since then, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is
witnessing a dramatic development in the economical,
commercial and industrial sectors of her society.
Today, Abdulrahman Suleiman AlBassam and Sons Company
hold offices in the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia and
Bahrain.
